Digital Project Manager

Permanent position (4 or 5 day week)
£35,000 - £45,000 (pro rata, dependent on experience)

Applied Works is the design partner to the world’s data pioneers. We’re a small team working on big projects that help organisations and academic institutions to create impactful and interactive experiences. Our growing studio is seeking to hire a Digital Project Manager who will assist our Head of Production in managing and organising our ongoing projects. This task involves creating and monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures, organising and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner.

To be successful as a Digital Project Manager at Applied Works, you’ll be interested in managing projects with a focus on complex data and technical delivery. You will need to be able to work to tight deadlines, have a thorough understanding of the project lifecycle, be proficient in using Google Suite, and have exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. At least three years of relevant experience is required for consideration.

What you’ll do

  • Create, maintain and monitor multiple project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.

  • Organise, attend, and participate in team and stakeholder meetings.

  • Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings.

  • Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.

  • Ensure jobs are completed according to client, and industry standards, and that job specifications and deadlines are met.

  • Determine project changes.

  • Provide administrative support as needed.

  • Undertake project tasks as required.

  • Develop project strategies.

  • Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.

  • Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.

  • Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.

  • Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.

  • Perform project post mortems to assess areas of improvement and how this can be achieved.

Core skills required

  • Three years of experience in a related field.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience of adopting Agile methodology for delivery of design and development projects.

  • Knowledge of PM softwares required (Coda, Asana, Monday.com, etc).

  • Solid knowledge of software development and web technologies.

  • Proficiency in using standard document and sheet software (G-Suite, MS office).

  • Knowledge of file management, transcription, and other administrative procedures.

  • Self-motivated, positive under pressure with a strong personal drive to deliver quality.

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.

  4. Interviews (online or in person) will take place week commencing 21 October 2024. The selected applicants will be sent interview questions in advance.

  5. All participants will be notified by 01 November 2024 whether they have been successful or not. A final decision is due to be made by 08 Nov 2024.
